Andrés, Fundador

We're looking for a Financial Controller with the ambition and the path to grow into a senior financial leadership position as weVLC scales. Join us and take ownership of the financial backbone of one of Valencia's fastest growing real estate living and investment concepts. This is, first and foremost, a control role: you understand our accounts and our numbers with real audit-level depth, across a complex, multi-entity group structure, and everything else in this role builds on that foundation. There's a working structure already in place, but there's genuine, meaningful work still ahead, and this is a role for someone who wants to keep strengthening that control, not just maintain what already exists.
Reporting to the COO, you'll be the person the shareholders, the team and our external partners (banks, notaries, tax advisors, lawyers, investors) rely on to keep the numbers accurate, the risks understood and the operation moving forward with confidence. You should be someone who can hold your ground on a number or a recommendation, even when it means telling someone something they don't want to hear, because you've genuinely checked the number yourself. Energy and drive matter, but they sit on top of real technical rigour, not instead of it. This isn't a steady-state role, and we're looking for someone motivated to push the function, and the company, toward its next stage of growth, starting from a solid, well-controlled base.
What you'll do
Financial control & reporting
Own the accuracy of the group's accounting with genuine audit-level scrutiny.
Review and validate the monthly, quarterly and annual close prepared by the team and by external accountants, with a deep grasp of every material line on the P&L and BS to catch what doesn't add up, not just at a surface level.
Review tax filings prepared by our external tax advisor.
Personally build the annual budget for the following year across our multi-entity group structure.
Own cash flow and P&L forecasting, with real early warning signals, not just numbers after the fact.
Implement the KPIs that let leadership see performance and risk before it becomes a problem.
Turn financial analysis into recommendations leadership can act on directly: project profitability, cost trade-offs, Opex, etc..
Dealmaking: modelling & tax
Build the financial models behind our most complex real estate deals, at the request of the CEO and/or the Chief Investment Officer (CIO): investment structures, equity vs debt, joint ventures, deal economics for specific assets. This is hands-on work you own directly.
Own oversight of the tax dimension, bringing into the financial models so the numbers reflect the real tax impact of a deal. Escalate to our tax specialists anything requiring a formal legal or tax opinion.
External relationships & stakeholder management
Be the primary operational point of contact with banks (financing conversations, account operations, guarantees) and tax/legal advisors (structuring questions on acquisitions, compliance).
Manage routine and escalated communication with investors and shareholders, from reporting to direct negotiation when needed.
Coordinate with external legal counsel on contract review and risk questions.
Know when to resolve something yourself and when to escalate.
Process, systems & automation
Bring a digital-first, always-questioning mindset to our processes and tools.
Challenge what's in place today rather than accepting it.
Drive automation opportunities with measurable impact. Push and coach the team to build them using AI where useful; hands-on implementation yourself is a real plus, but the energy to make it happen is what matters most.
Design and formalise internal controls where they don't yet exist in a structured way.
Team leadership
Manage and develop the Finance & Admin team, acting as the day-to-day reference for junior members.
Set priorities, review work, and build the judgment of the people you manage, not just their task list.
Who you are
Do you genuinely enjoy getting into the detail of a balance sheet until you understand every material line, rather than signing off on what someone else hands you?
Can you own the accuracy of a monthly close with genuine audit-level scrutiny, even when you're not the one physically preparing it?
Can you hold your ground on a number, even when it means telling someone else something they don't want to hear?
Do you want real ownership over cash management, forecasting and the numbers that go in front of shareholders?
Can you manage and develop another person's growth, not just your own?
Does turning manual processes into automated ones genuinely excite you?
Are you as comfortable reading a balance sheet as negotiating financing terms with a bank?
Do you have the energy to take a financial function that already works and push it further?
What we are looking for
7+ years of progressive experience in financial control, with hands-on experience
inside multi-entity group structures.
A minimum of 4 years built in a Big4 audit practice, with solid knowledge of
Spanish GAAP and best practices in real estate accounting and reporting.
Bank financing experience and exposure to real estate or a fast-scaling company
are strong pluses.
Real energy and motivation to build and grow a financial function. This isn't a
steady-state role, and we screen hard for genuine enthusiasm.
Demonstrated experience managing and developing people.
Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills and a genuine pull toward automation.
Bonus points for hands-on experience building workflows yourself, not just
spotting where they'd help.
Native level Spanish and proficient English.
Comfortable owning a hard conversation with a bank, a lawyer, a shareholder or a
colleague, and willing to push back, grounding decisions in an accurate financial
view rather than telling someone what he wants to hear.
A builder, not an operator. You don't need a fully scoped task list to know what to
do next, you build the fix when you spot a problem instead of just flagging it, and
you engage with how the rest of the business works instead of staying narrowly
in finance.
Someone who sees this role as a real step toward a even more senior financial
leadership position, as weVLC scales. Not a ceiling.
What we offer
Join a fast-growing real estate scale-up in sunny Valencia, at a stage with real
capital deployed and real complexity to work with.
Genuine ownership over a function that already works, with real scope to shape how
it works better.
Work directly with the CEO, COO and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) on decisions that
matter at group level.
Beautiful office near Jardí del Túria with daily breakfast and lunch included.
A growing environment: as the company scales, your own scope will evolve with it.
Competitive salary, reviewed as the role and the company grow.
